Student Counseling Services is a safe space for anyone who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning sexual orientation or gender identity to discuss issues related to identity formation, sexuality, gender, academic success, and personal growth.

borderTRANS
borderTRANS is a group that provides a safe place where trans students can come with questions about their gender identity and other issues. borderTRANS is a space for individuals to share their experiences and create community in a welcoming, supportive environment. This group is open to any UAB student who identifies as Trans, Transgender, Gender-queer, Fluid, Non-Binary, FTM, MTF, Two Spirit, Intersex, Gender Questioning and Transexual. This group is not open to family and allies.
Gender Transition Team
UAB Student Health Services and Student Counseling Services seek to offer the highest standards of medical and mental health care and support for transgender and gender nonconforming students. Services available include primary care, gynecologic and urologic care, sexual health, mental health services, hormonal treatment and consultation about surgical options.
