Mental health Matters

Faculty and Staff Supporting Student Mental Health & Wellbeing at UAB

Student Counseling Services is partnering with the Center for Teaching and Learning to offer faculty and staff training designed to equip participants to better understand and support students around mental health concerns. By supporting student mental health and well-being, faculty and staff can facilitate higher student retention and persistence to graduation as well as impact students’ overall ability to successfully pursue their academic, personal and career goals.

This fall, we will be soft-launching two workshops for faculty and staff, Mental Health Matters: Foundations and QPR Suicide Gatekeeper Certification. Workshops will be held at the Center for Teaching and Learning and all faculty and staff are invited to register. Lunch will be provided.

  • Wednesday, November 8, 11am – 1pm: Mental Health Matters: Foundations
  • Wednesday, November 15, 11am – 1pm: QPR Suicide Gatekeeper Certification
