Blood supplies are dangerously low across the United States. UAB Hospital is asking the public to roll up their sleeves and donate blood. Donors of all blood types are needed. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are needed to donate. The process usually takes less than 45 minutes. Individuals who are at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
Blood donations will be accepted from anyone who feels well, including those who have recently received the COVID or flu vaccines. If you've had COVID, we ask that you wait until you receive a negative test or you have been without symptoms for two weeks after infection.
