Matt LettMatt is an Alabama-native. After participating in a high school exchange in Guanajuato, Mexico, he chose to pursue a degree in International Studies at UAB. Throughout his undergraduate education, Matt also spent time studying in Argentina and China where he was exposed to accounts of Marxism and the human rights violations which infamously took place in these regions. This spurred an escalated interest in human rights which urged him to continue his studies at UAB – this time with an MA in the Anthropology of Peace and Human Rights. Through completing this program, Matt hopes to pursue a career in humanitarian nonprofit. His other interests include economics and social change.

He is a former student assistant for INTO UAB English Language Programs and has also completed an internship with the Atlantic Institute – a non-governmental organization in Hoover, Alabama – but he now works as a graduate teaching assistant for the UAB Department of Anthropology.
