With a background in intelligence analysis, investigations, and social work, I am passionate about introducing students to the diverse field of digital forensics, preparing them to become future investigators or analysts—or to collaborate effectively with them. I teach digital forensics overview courses and bring insights from my career in social media Trust and Safety, including experience as a Cyber Threat Investigator and Senior Cyber Intelligence Analyst at LinkedIn.
In collaboration with the larger Trust and Safety field, I contribute to teaching this topic at the university level, ensuring students are exposed to industry-relevant knowledge. I also focus on teaching Digital Forensics and Criminal Justice students about the concepts of digital evidence in physical crimes and the physical harm that can result from digital crimes. My teaching emphasizes real-world skill-building through engaging activities designed to sharpen analytical thinking.
As the Digital Forensics Program and Internship Coordinator and Graduate Certificate Coordinator, I enjoy mentoring students, whether they are new graduates entering the field or professionals pivoting into digital forensics as a second career—just as I did. Drawing from my social work experience, I particularly enjoy discussing the transferability of skills across disciplines and fostering collaborative, creative approaches to investigations and problem-solving. I look forward to connecting with students, helping them explore career paths in digital forensics, and encouraging them to think beyond traditional investigative frameworks.
