Her professional background has taken her to three countries abroad beginning in 2007 teaching English in professional education, and has been working with students at the university level since 2014. Before coming to UAB in 2017 she was a remote instructor at UNIC Institute (formerly based in Russia) for English as an academic Lingua Franca to future teachers.

Ms.Cox believes that writing is the art of non-audible communication, and therefore involves the writer individually as well as the community the writer is in. Her writing classroom, much like her language acquisition classrooms, is interactive and based on communicative learning principles.
