Layla Torres earned her B.S. in English from Troy University and M.A. in English from UAB. Her master's thesis included a witty collection of short nonfiction essays about her journeys traveling, both within the states and international. Layla teaches both freshman composition courses and literature courses and is also an Academic Advisor for students majoring in psychology. Her favorite part about teaching is incorporating hands-on learning opportunities for her students, including interactive games and low-stakes group work, which allow her students to have a voice in the classroom. When she is not teaching, you can probably find Layla traveling, writing, or watching The Office.
