About the Program

If you’re looking to design, develop, and deliver smart, healthy and sustainable solutions to urban planning and similar fields, then these two advanced degrees will prepare you help build modern cities that can withstand the growing stressors of energy security, population growth, public health, climate change, and resource and infrastructure demands.

The program offers a broad curriculum. Students will enroll in the Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Population Health via the MPH core, an internship, and a capstone course. Additional environmental health sciences courses focus on urban health issues including air and water pollution, occupational safety, and assessing and managing environmental risks. Students will also enroll in the Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) with a specialization in environmental engineering.

Concentrations

The coordinated MPH/MSCE program includes the Population Health concentration for the Master of Public Health and the Environmental Engineering concentration for the Master of Science in Civil Engineering.

Delivery Methods

On-Campus

This program delivers most of its content via on-campus, in-person meetings.
The MPH portion of this program can be taken online.
