About the Program

You're a passionate educator, and you're ready for your influence to extend beyond the walls of a single classroom. With this degree, you can meet the qualifications for an Alabama Class AA certificate in instructional leadership and prepare yourself for a variety of administration positions.

Before you begin, however, you have to already have your master’s degree in an educational or educational support area, hold a current Alabama Class A certificate in the same education or educational support area as your master's degree, and have at least three years of full-time teaching under your belt. With such a foundation, we can begin showing you how to become an effective leader. How? We specifically broke up our curriculum into four blocks, each containing around eight hours of coursework, to give you the tools you need for your career. You'll take classes such as Adult Learning Community; Organizational Leadership; Law, Ethics, and Policy for Educational Leaders; and Leadership of Special Programs. Best of all, we offer it all in a blended format of on-campus and online so you can manage your busy work schedule.
