About the Program

This certificate is ideal for students seeking to accomplish one or more of the following objectives: (a) develop a pathway for clinical translation of an existing biomedical innovation or idea, (b) pursue a career in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry and (c) gain insights into life science/biomedical entrepreneurship.

If you’re passionate about making sure that scientific breakthroughs impact the patient and clinical experience in ways that transform and improve health, then this non-degree graduate will help you gain knowledge, skills, and competencies required to translate basic science discoveries and new biomedical technologies into clinical products. This certificate targets both non-engineering and engineering graduate students and will introduce a structured approach to accomplishing clinical translation of biomedical innovations along with knowledge pertaining to entrepreneurial, commercialization, and regulatory pathways.
