About the Program

Theatre majors learn beyond the fundamentals of producing live theatrical productions. Students can take a full range of courses in acting, design, theatre history and literature, playwriting, stage management, directing, and much more. You may complete your degree with a broad survey of courses, or you may specialize in performance, design/technology, directing, or another focus area. Whatever your interests, we can tailor your degree program to meet your unique goals.

The Department of Theatre’s production company, Theatre UAB, provides ample opportunities for students to perform, design, direct, build, and run performances for audiences in state-of-the-art production facilities and performance venues.
