The award recognizes the chapter’s work to engage students in research and share that work across the school community through its student-led newsletter.

At UAB, that work is driven by a broad base of student leadership, including former national presidents.

The local SRG is led by president Ethan Brenna, with students across the chapter contributing to programming, outreach and research engagement. The newsletter is produced by student editors Rahul Wadhwani and Suyeon Kim, with support from a wider team of student contributors who help source, develop and share research stories from across the school.

Over the past several years, the group has expanded participation and created more opportunities for students to get involved in research at every level. The newsletter has become one of the chapter’s primary tools for connecting that work—highlighting student and faculty research while building visibility across the UAB Dentistry community.

This recognition builds on earlier national honors for membership growth, marking continued progress in strengthening student-led research and engagement at UAB.

The award was presented during the AADOCR/IADR Annual Meeting and Exhibition in March, where UAB Dentistry students, residents and faculty contributed to a broad range of research presentations.
