The UAB School of Dentistry is seeking volunteers for the 2026 TeamSmile event, which will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2026 at the UAB Campus Recreation Center.
TeamSmile is a national nonprofit that partners oral health professionals with professional and collegiate athletic organizations to provide dental care and oral health education to underserved children. The Sept. 18 event will bring together volunteers from across the School of Dentistry and the UAB community to help provide a meaningful experience for local children and families.
Volunteer opportunities are available for faculty, staff, residents, students, and community members. Dental services provided during the event will include exams, X-rays, hygiene services, fillings, and extractions. Children will also enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day, including music, face painting, mascots, sport team representatives, and other family-friendly entertainment.
Volunteers will be provided with a boxed lunch and a TeamSmile T-shirt.
Dental volunteers will receive four continuing education credits for their service.
