I am presently serving as an adjunct instructor for the Graduate Degree Program for Teaching English as a Second Language at UAB.  I teach K-12 English Learners for the Etowah County Board of Education in Gadsden, Alabama.  I have also been the Secondary ESL Coordinator at the Dresden International School in Dresden, Germany.  Prior to teaching in Germany, I taught Spanish and a sheltered social studies class at Oak Mountain Middle School in Shelby County Schools.  Teaching students from all over the world is my passion. I love to get to know them and understand their cultures. I also love to collaborate with teachers to meet the needs of our students.

I graduated from Samford University with a degree in history and later earned a Master’s degree in Social Studies Education from Jacksonville State University. I have also earned an Educational Specialist degree and certification for teaching English as a Second Language from UAB. I am working on a PhD at the University of Alabama in social and cultural studies.

I love to travel and some of my favorite places that I have visited include Russia, Cuba, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Chile.  I am also a dachshund enthusiast and have two cute dachshunds.
