eSports demand a strong focus on cognitive abilities, mental endurance, and precise eye-hand coordination. To meet these demands, the program incorporates performance management principles that address the physical and mental needs of gamers. This includes ergonomic training, physical conditioning, and exercises to prevent repetitive strain injuries—all aimed at promoting long-term health and career sustainability. These wellness-focused components are rarely emphasized in traditional game development or IT-related degrees.
The coaching component integrates deep technical knowledge of games with an understanding of player psychology. It fosters leadership and communication skills needed to guide both individual players and teams in a high-pressure environment of competitive gaming. Unlike traditional sports coaching, eSports coaching requires expertise in game mechanics, industry trends, and evolving strategies (metas) tailored to each game's dynamics.
