In order to graduate from IEM, each student is required to practice innovation through a product development, startup company, or implementation of a new technology. Students are given set parameters but are allowed to choose their own project. We then guide them through a completion process that requires them to practice and demonstrate competency in leadership, innovation, and technology.
Many of our students use this opportunity to try their hand at entrepreneurship, and a few go on to develop profitable and functional companies from this assignment. Below are just a few examples of companies that were started as a result of the IEM Design Project.
