As part of the ongoing construction of the Biomedical Research and Psychology Building, the westbound lanes of University Boulevard between 14th and 16th streets south will be closed to traffic on Sunday, Aug. 17. Detour routes will be clearly marked for drivers to navigate around the site.

Effective Friday, May 9, the southern portion of 16th Street South between 7th Avenue and University Boulevard will be closed through the end of the year. Facilities is closing this portion of the road for the next phase in the ongoing construction of the new Biomedical Research and Psychology Building. Access to the Children's Hospital 7th Avenue Deck will remain open from the 7th Avenue side.

Beginning Wednesday, April 9, the northern most lane of University Boulevard will be closed to traffic between 15th and 18th streets south for two months. Review the Volker Hall Construction Impacts map for details.  

Facilities is closing this traffic lane to make space for construction of the new Volker Hall atrium, which will open in July. This project will create a better, more accessible entrance to Volker Hall, as well as visually enhancing the space.

Due to ongoing construction in front of the Webb Building, the sidewalk between Ryals Public Health Building and  the School of Nursing Building will be closed for 3 months beginning Sept. 16. Please visit the UAB Construction Zones Map for specific details. We encourage pedestrians to cross at designated crosswalks as they navigate around this site.
