You can enroll in classes part-time while at UAB as a J-1 Research Scholar as long as your primary activity continues to be teaching and/or research as described on your Form DS-2019. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to request that the registration hold be lifted since the class registration system and our immigration database do not communicate. You do not need to send any more documentation for us to lift the registration hold.

You are also welcome and encouraged to take advantage of the wide array of English language enrichment offered at UAB, including:

• Free Community English Classes once a week.
