New Manager Orientation (NMO)
UAB’s Learning and Development hosts a New Manager Orientation (NMO) every quarter to invest and train individuals new to managing (whether newly hired or promoted).
Description: To equip new managers with the essential knowledge, skills, and tools required to lead their teams effectively, align with UAB‘s values, and cultivate a feeling of belonging.
Objectives:
- Articulate UAB culture through the lens of leadership
- Identify key stakeholders and effective communication methods
- Describe UAB’s people-centered performance management philosophy and implement strategies for success
- Create a supportive and inclusive work environment
Audience: Workgroup A (campus staff) in Functional Manager or Director roles new to leading.
When: One-day session, last month of Calendar Year Quarter
