Appointments, Promotion & Tenure Process
At UAB Surgery, we aim to help our faculty successfully advance along their career path. Via the UAB APT process, faculty member contributions in the areas of research, teaching, and service are evaluated for promotion and tenure.
Time Tracking
Campus faculty and staff regular exempt 01 and 03 (monthly paid): Use Campus Time and Attendance (CTA) for tracking and reporting all time away including but not limited to vacation, sick time, FMLA and more.
Campus faculty and staff nonexempt (bi-weekly paid): Use Campus Time and Attendance (CTA) to track time worked on a daily basis and document paid non-worked hours (benefit time).
UAB Hospital and LLC monthly paid employees (70 orgs): Use UAB Medicine KRONOS for tracking and reporting all time away including but not limited to vacation, sick time, FMLA and more.

Media Kit Reservation
The Department of Surgery Communications Team has developed a media kit for faculty to improve their video and audio when recording presentations, virtually presenting at a conference, or interviewing with media.
IT Support Request
For any technical support or service requests, UAB Department of Surgery faculty, trainees and staff should call the HSIS Help Desk at 205-934-8888 or email the Help Desk at helpdesk@uabmc.edu. The Division of Pediatric Surgery, those working regularly at Children's Alabama, and some research units use DOM IT at domhelp@uab.edu.
