Dr. JoAnndria Brown is a native of Madison, Mississippi. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of Mississippi before obtaining her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Brown completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry, where she currently serves as an Assistant Professor. During her residency, she developed a passion for educating future optometrists and delivered lectures on contact lens troubleshooting, specialty contact lens fitting, and the management of corneal diseases, including keratoconus, dry eye disease, and limbal stem cell deficiency.
Her clinical and academic interests focus on improving visual outcomes through advanced contact lens technologies and evidence-based management of complex corneal conditions. Dr. Brown is dedicated to enhancing patient care while advancing knowledge in the fields of cornea and contact lenses.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Brown enjoys rock climbing and hiking, pursuits that reflect her enthusiasm for challenge, exploration, and lifelong learning.
