Education:   

• BS, University of Alabama at Birmingham
• OD, UAB School of Optometry

Dr. Simms is a graduate of UAB School of Optometry. Following graduation she completed a hospital based residency at the Tuscaloosa VAMC. She joined the faculty at UABSO in July of 2000. She and her husband, Derek, live in Vestavia Hills and have three children.
