Admissions - Undergraduate
If you are interested in health care or are planning to apply to a professional graduate program in one of the health areas the UAB School of Health Professions undergraduate programs in Nutrition Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or Health Care Management are for you. Both of the majors offer pre-professional tracks and specialized areas of concentration and our Health Professions' academic advisors will help you plan your schedules to help you reach your goals. Some of the professional programs in UAB Health Professions offer early admission opportunities.
Note: Admission to UAB does not guarantee admission to the professional phase of any SHP program.
Nutrition Sciences, B.S.The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences goes beyond 'you are what you eat' and dives deep into the relationship between human health, mindfulness, nutrition, metabolism and food as medicine. This is a student-focused program that works to prepare our graduates to directly address community health at multiple levels upon graduation.
Biomedical Sciences, B.S.The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences program prepares graduates for entry into the biomedical science workforce or graduate and professional study in health professions such as physician assistant studies, medicine, physical therapy, biotechnology, clinical laboratory science, genetic counseling and many more.
Health Care Management, B.S.The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management prepares professionals for mid-level management positions in health care organizations including hospitals, clinics, long term care facilities, medical supply firms, and home health care agencies.
We also have Early Acceptance and Fast-Track programs where you can earn your Bachelor of Science and a graduate degree, often in as little as five years.
