| School of Health Professions boasts first UAB alumni chapter in Saudi Arabia
EMSHA Class 1 graduation, Dec. 2013The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s National Alumni Society has formally recognized the UAB Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Alumni Chapter. The first NAS chapter established in the Middle East includes 31 graduates of Saudi Arabia’s inaugural UAB Executive Master of Science in Health Administration. The chapter is open to any UAB graduate that lives in Saudi Arabia. (continued...)
Jason Little (MSHA Class 33)
Named President & CEO of Baptist Memorial Health Care
Jason Little, a graduate of UAB’s Master of Science in Health Administration Program and member of MSHA Class 33, was recently promoted to president and CEO of Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis, Tennessee.
Little has been with Baptist since 2002. Before being promoted to his current position, he served as executive vice president and metro market leader, overseeing Baptist’s seven metro-Memphis hospitals and NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. Before that, he served as administrator and CEO of three Baptist Memorial hospitals. Little received his bachelor’s degree in health administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he was elected student body president, and his master’s degree in business administration and health care administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic and then joined the team as an operations administrator for its Scottsdale, Ariz., location before coming to Baptist. Little serves on the boards of the Tennessee Hospital Association, Memphis Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Church Health Center and the American Heart Association. He also is a member of The University of Tennessee Alumni Board and is the incoming chairman of the New Memphis Institute board.
