Take advantage of these opportunities to meet others and become involved by attending campus and hall programs. Be on the lookout for information from your RA about programs happening in your hall.

BLAZER WELCOME

Blazer Welcome is a four-week programming series to help you get connected to campus and all it has to offer.

YOUR RESIDENT ASSISTANT

RAs are student staff members, employed by Student Housing, who assist students in their acclimation to the residence halls, apartments, and the UAB community.

The RAs assist residents with roommate conflicts, homesickness, and academic concerns. They provide information about activities, events, and policies. RAs also help plan programs for residents living in their areas and will work to develop individual relationships with each resident.

Your RA has received training on responding to questions and concerns and can assist with most any issue you may be experiencing. In most cases, your RA can help explore your concerns and refer you to the proper campus resources. RAs rotate on-call nights, which consist of completing walk-through rounds of the residence halls or apartment complexes.

HALL COUNCIL/GETTING INVOLVED

Hall Councils are student-led and supported groups comprised of residents living in the residence halls. All residents in a hall are automatically members of the corresponding Hall Council.
