With the Bucks for Books program, students with extra federal financial aid (awards made by filling out the FAFSA) can access those funds to purchase books prior to the start of classes for fall and spring semesters (funds are not available for summer terms).

If you are an undergraduate student who has an account credit of $50 or more due to an excess in anticipated federal Financial Aid, these funds – up to $500 – will automatically transfer to your BlazerBucks account.

These BlazerBucks will be available by noon on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 so that you may purchase books before classes begin on August 28. Students may use these funds at the UAB Bookstore or any other BlazerBucks vendor.

You may opt out of this automatic BlazerBucks transfer by completing the online form by noon on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Students who opt out will receive their excess financial aid via direct deposit (if signed up for this option) or by mail during the week of August 28, 2017 after the start of classes.
