(Un)Charted: Young Minds, Big Questions
A Philosophy Summer Camp
The UAB Department of Philosophy invites applications for a summer day camp in philosophy. Campers will explore readings, spend time puzzling over classic philosophical questions, and learn how to develop and defend their own views as well as how to engage thoughtfully with those who disagree with them.
2026 Theme: Who Knows What?
How do you figure out what to believe? How do you figure out who to trust? Do some people have special access to certain types of knowledge? When two people disagree about something, how can we resolve that disagreement? Should we resolve it? How in the world do we figure out what’s true? Exploring these questions together, campers will develop and strengthen critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and communication skills while getting a feel for what it’s like to be a student on campus at UAB.
