(Rising 8th-12th graders)

The UAB Summer Percussion Camp will consist of five days of instruction during the week of June 23 through June 27, and will feature group lessons, specialty sessions, and masterclasses. The camp session will last from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily and will include lunch each day.

This camp will accept rising 8th - 12th grade students. Any student may apply, regardless of what percussion instrument they feel most comfortable on (snare, mallets, drum set, etc.). Although not necessary, it will be highly beneficial if the student is familiar with the interpretation of music notation and has had exposure to several different percussion instruments (i.e. at least one year of school band experience).

We will aim to provide a multitude of clinic topics through the week, including mallets, snare drum, timpani, drum set, and accessory instruments, to also include percussion ensemble, steel band, and drumline experience as deemed possible by number of participants. We will hold a "show and tell" informal concert at the end of the week at 5:00 PM.

Camp Tuition

$200.00 if registered before June 1st, 2025, increasing to $250 on June 1. Registration deadline is June 16th, 2025.
