Admission Information

To qualify for this program a student should:
  1. Be completing at least 4 semesters of college coursework
  2. Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  3. Have ACT or MCAT scores above 20 (or SAT scores higher than 1200)
  4. Be an Alabama resident
Students from rural areas are given priority in the selection process.  A maximum of 20 students will be chosen for the internship. Each student receives a stipend to cover housing, transportation and meals.

Applications for the summer of 2016 will be available in late November 2015.
Your pre-health advisor has additional information about HRPI. You may want to consult with her/him before submitting your application. 

The 2016 applicants selected for a videoconference interview will be notified in early March 2016.  

Important Dates

                March 2016: Applicants selected for interviews will be notified.
                March - April 2016: Applicant interviews conducted via videoconference. 
                April 2016: Notification of students accepted for HRPI.
                May 31, 2016: Arrive in Huntsville - set up housing in dormitory
                June 1, 2016: Begin Internship
                July 22, 2016: Final Day
