Are you a HIV negative, generally healthy adult between the ages of 18-55?
The Alabama Vaccine Research Clinic at UAB are seeking volunteers for a phase 1 HIV prevention study. This study is to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of synthetic DNAs encoding in adults without HIV. This trial is in search of healthy HIV negative adults between the ages of 18-55. Procedures will include blood draws and injections of study vaccine, as well as the collection of white blood cells. White blood cells will be collected by a procedure called leukapheresis. Participants will be compensated for their efforts in this study.

Your baby will have 2 injections, which will be 8 weeks apart. You will be asked to return to the study site with your baby up to 7 times over the course of 15 months. Your baby will be closely monitored by the study team if any symptoms of COVID-19 are reported at any time throughout their participation. Nasal swabs and blood draws will be required at 3-4 of the study site visits. Compensation for participation is available. The Alabama Vaccine Research Clinic at UAB are seeking volunteers for a phase 1 HIV prevention study. This study tests the body’s immune system response to, a protein similar to what is found in HIV. The immune response prepares the body to recognize the same protein in HIV and fight the virus if a person is exposed to HIV in the future. Participants will be compensated over $750 for their efforts.
