FRONT DESK

Each residence hall has a centrally located front desk. Front desks operate seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Here you can find important services for residents living in the residence halls.

You will need to go to the front desk to:

  • Check in visitors.
  • Submit overnight guest forms.
  • Report incidents that occur in the halls.
  • Ask any questions about the residence halls or UAB.

SAFETY

UAB has many campus-wide features to foster a safe and secure environment:

  • Residence halls are locked 24/7 – ONE Card access to residents only
  • 24/7 staffed front desk at each residence hall
  • Student Housing & Residence Life has a UAB Police Precinct
  • Over 400 Help phones on campus that right directly to UAB police
  • Blazer Express bus service provides free rides to students around campus

TO INCREASE YOUR SAFETY:

  • Always carry your cell phone
  • Always let your roommate or someone know when/where you are going and when you expect to return
  • Refer to the UABPD website at www.uab.edu/police for additional information

WI-FI / ETHERNET

You will be sent an email prior to move-in explaining how to set up your internet connection and MyResNet account. Apogee will be available during move in to help you with any issues regarding WiFi in the Residence Halls.

REC CENTER

The UAB Campus Recreation offers you the best opportunities for recreation and fitness.

You will find everything you need to stay active under one roof – free weights, court sports, swimming pools, group fitness classes, nutrition education, fitness areas, a climbing wall, and much more.

The 152,275 square feet covers three floors: housing four basketball/volleyball courts, five racquetball courts (one of which can be converted to squash and four for wallyball), four aerobics studios, 18,000 square feet of weight and cardio-fitness areas, game room, KidZone, aquatics center with both lap and leisure components, Center Court gym used for indoor soccer, floor hockey and badminton, Power Zone, indoor track, and a climbing wall.

EPRINT

ePrint is a print management system that works in conjunction with the University's ONE Card system. The ePrint program offers users a uniform method to pay for printing services throughout the UAB campus.

ePrint not only allows users to pay only for the services they choose, but promotes fiscal responsibility and significantly diminishes printing waste.

BLAZER EXPRESS

The UAB Blazer Express Transit System is a service operating under the Business & Auxiliary Services department that provides transportation throughout the University campus.

With a valid UAB ID badge, students, employees, and authorized visitors can enjoy fare-free bus transportation along 5 designated routes.

All buses are ADA-accessible and can seat approximately 35 riders.
