About the Program

If you feel inspired to teach kids—from 5-year-olds in kindergarten up through sixth grade—then this is the degree for you. As an elementary school teacher, you can make a lasting impact in a child's life. And this degree will help prepare you for a career working with young students in a variety of educational settings.

We believe hands-on experience is very important. That's why you'll complete an internship in addition to taking courses such as Humanistic and Behavioral Studies, Foundations of Education, Child Development/Family Relations, Developmental Reading, and other classes. The knowledge and skills you gain can lead to an Alabama Class B teacher certificate.
