Inaugural Graduate School Program Admin Award
The Graduate School Dean invites nominations for the 2026 Program Admin Award, honoring exceptional program administrators from UAB’s 11 academic schools (excluding the Graduate School) whose collaboration has significantly enhanced the support and experience of graduate students, postdocs, and trainees.
This award celebrates campus partners who have made a meaningful impact through their contributions to Graduate School initiatives in areas such as academics, admissions, student services, and operational excellence.
Nomination Guidelines
To nominate a deserving program administrator:
- Complete the electronic nomination form
- Submit a narrative (500 words or fewer) describing why the nominee should be recognized. Include specific examples of their contributions and the positive outcomes of their partnership.
- (Optional) Include one letter of support from a colleague other than the nominator.
- Eligibility: Any Graduate School staff member may nominate program directors, managers, or administrators from UAB’s 11 academic schools.
Narrative & Letter of Support Tips:
- Narrative (Required): Share a focused and compelling account of the nominee's impact. Highlight how they've supported your work or team in advancing Graduate School goals-whether through innovative solutions, collaborative efforts, or sustained excellence.
- Letter of Support (Optional): A brief endorsement from someone familiar with the nominee's work. This letter should offer personal insight, specific contributions, and why the nominee stands out.
Selection & Recognition
- Two award recipients will be selected and announced by the Graduate School Dean.
- Honorees will be formally recognized at the 2026 Annual Graduate School Awards Ceremony alongside student, staff, and faculty awardees. The event is scheduled for April 15, 2026, at the Alumni House.
