Graduate Student Organization Funding

Graduate Student Organizations (GSO) registered through the Graduate School on Engage are eligible to apply for funding supplements from the GSG for group-sponsored activities.

The goal of GSG funds is to provide social and professional development activities that promote the interaction of graduate students and benefit the UAB graduate student community as a whole. Please refer to GSG Funding Agreement and UAB Expenditure Guidelines for more information.

How to Apply

Funding applications are currently closed for the Spring 2024 semester. 

Instructions for Applying

  1. Go to your organization’s page on Engage.
  2. Click Manage Organization.
  3. Select FINANCE from the menu on the left sidebar.
  4. Click Create Request on the top right corner.
  5. Select Create Budget Request.


Graduate Student Organizations should always keep an organized budget. Please see GSG's budget template as a guide and starting point.
