  • How do I give video presentations?

    All rooms have two options:

    1. Log into the Lectern PC with your Blazer ID and password.
    2. Clickshare for a faster set up download the app on your laptop before your reservation. Download the Clickshare App opens a new website.

    Room 102 also has an HDMI option.

  • Do the conference rooms have video conferencing capabilities?

    Currently the conference center rooms do not have built-in technology for video conferencing. You may bring a laptop with a camera to connect or request to use our Meeting Owl (subject to availability, must be requested prior to reservation).

  • Is audio and video support included with my reservation?

    While the conference rooms are set up to be user-friendly, we do not offer in house IT services.   • What if I want a set up other than classroom?

    You can hire an approved mover or you can move furniture yourself. Remember that furniture must be returned to classroom set-up by the end of your reservation. No furniture may be removed from the rooms without conference center staff approval.

  • Where can people park when coming to the Heersink Conference Center?

  • How can non-UAB attendees get into the building?
    • Meet attendees at the door and escort to the reserved space.
    • You may request the 7th Ave door only to be unlocked by placing an online service request with UAB Physical Security opens a new website.
      • For short events only, submit a request for the beginning of the event, not the entire length. (Example: for an 8 a.m. meeting, unlock doors from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The door must be monitored by requester.)
      • All-day events should request doors be unlocked from the beginning of the event until start of the last session. You must have on-site UAB security while doors are unlocked.
      • Do not include set-up or clean-up in times.
  • Do you have easels for poster sessions?

    The Conference Center does not but faculty, departments, and other UAB staff may check out easels opens a new website from UAB Service Learning & Undergraduate Research.
