UAB Physical Security has protected the UAB community for nearly 50 years. Our staff of technical and administrative personnel currently maintain over 6,500 video cameras, nearly 5,000 card access doors, and 70 burglar alarm accounts. We also track over 500,000 brass keys and 60,000 UAB ONE Cards.

Service and Installation Requests
If you are experiencing issues with or wish to request the installation of an alarm, camera, card reader, or lock, please submit an online request.

UAB Physical Security does not open locked doors for individuals. If you need access to a door, please call the UAB Police Department non-emergency line at (205) 934-4434. An officer will be dispatched to assist you.
Access Control
UAB Physical Security is responsible for the issuance and retrieval of UAB issued keys and ONE Cards for employees and students. We program all ONE Card access for campus and hospital.
To request badge access or a key, you must complete the ONE Card E-Form.

UAB Physical Security does not accept cash for any purposes. You must use credit, debit, Blazer Bucks, or departmental account numbers for all transactions.
