Employee Relations

UAB Employee Relations believes that prevention and fair resolution of problems are critical elements of a productive, harmonious work environment. To achieve this, the department provides management and employee counseling, advice, policy interpretation, and collaborative solutions in an effort to create and maintain the best workplace for UAB faculty and staff.

Employee Relations Services
UAB's Employee Relations department coordinates the handling of:
- Interaction regarding policy and legal requirements
- Problem resolution
- Title IX investigations
- The EEOC and Department of Labor investigations
- ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) complaints
- Title VII discrimination complaints
- Unemployment compensation
- Exit interviews/surveys
Other services include:
- The AWARE Program (Assistance for Employees with Disabilities)
- On-the-Job Injury (OJI)
- Employee of the Month/Year
