The Huntsville Regional Medical Campus is one of four campuses supporting the Heersink School of Medicine. We have one of the premier Family Medicine residencies in the Southeast, an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program, and the UAB Health Center Huntsville, the north Alabama anchor of UAB Medicine with the largest multi-specialty physician practice in the region. With 30 faculty members, 87 staff members, and 130 students and residents, we provide crucial clinical care and medical education within the region

We offer required and elective clinical experiences necessary for third- and fourth-year medical students, giving students the option to complete part of all of their clinical training in Huntsville. The Huntsville Rural Medicine Program is a primary care curriculum for students with rural backgrounds, and we offer other rural pipeline programs to prepare those interested in becoming doctors. Our Internal Medicine Residency Program and Family Medicine Residency Program provide physician manpower not only for north Alabama, but across the region and nation. A continuing medical education series assists practicing physicians and other health professionals in maintaining licensure and certification requirements.

In addition to faculty in the primary care departments of family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics, our campus is supported by faculty in psychiatry, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery and a broad spectrum of sub-specialties. Physicians from Huntsville and the cities and towns across North Alabama serve as clinical faculty.
