Why I Chose UAB: UAB stood out as my first choice for residency due to the fellowship matches, operative volume and balanced training, and the program’s culture. UAB consistently matched residents into top fellowships with many of the same fellowships matching residents again from subsequent classes.

The graduating case numbers for chiefs fell well above the national average and UAB had one of the largest orthopaedic trauma volumes in the country. Each subspecialty had multiple faculty with residents that rotated through each service as both a junior and senior resident. Most importantly, residents and faculty developed strong relationships and created a fun and enjoyable environment within the program.
