Biography
Dr. Lisa Kafchinski is an musculoskeletal oncologist in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University and received Alpha Omega Alpha honors from University of Nevada School of Medicine. She completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at University of Utah and musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at University of Toronto. Dr. Kafchinski was an assistant professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, Texas prior to joining UAB in July 2020. Her clinical interests include the treatment of bone and soft tissue cancers (musculoskeletal oncology) in both adult and pediatric patients, metastatic bone disease, limb salvage procedures, and the study of resiliency in patients with cancer. Dr. Kafchinski is board-certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
