Cristina Magi-Galluzzi, MD, PhDWelcome to the UAB Department of Pathology in the UAB Heersink School of Medicine. We pride ourselves on being a national leader in clinical services, experimental and translational research, and teaching the next generation of pathologists.

We're excited to have you learn more about our department. Our team of 90 faculty includes national experts in a wide range of anatomic and clinical pathology subspecialties, providing state-of-the-art clinical services across our 7 divisions and throughout the state, in our Community Pathology Practice Program.

Our commitment to diversity across the department is reflected in our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and dedicated vice chair. We offer innovative training in the form of AP/CP residency, fellowship and post-graduate training programs that are among the finest in the country.

Our annual extramurally-funded research portfolio continues to earn us a spot in the top 10 among all pathology departments in the U.S. from the prestigious Blue Ridge Rankings. We are excited to highlight the growth of our offerings in molecular and genetic diagnostics, including the creation of several new assays.

We hope to continue the momentum we’ve generated and the reputation built by generations of career scientists, doctors, and educators here at UAB this year and for years to come. I invite you to explore our rich offerings on this website, encourage you to follow us on Twitter and Instagram, Facebook and Instagram, and don’t hesitate to contact us to learn more.
