BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Alys Stephens Center ASC Kids' Club will present "Yuletide in Dogtown," an ASC original theatrical production, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 in the center, 1200 10th Ave. South. Tickets are $8. Call 205-975-2787 or go to www.AlysStephens.org.

The residents of Dogtown are back and waiting for the holiday season with tail-wagging glee. All seems to be going well until a cat is spotted in Dogtown. Can the mayor keep peace during the holiday season or will fur fly? It's a howling, growling, meowing good time. This unique show, back by popular demand, is written in a rhyme romp. Audience members are invited to sing the refrains to the show's delightful songs. This play is meant to encourage the best of the yuletide spirit, tolerance and good will for all mankind - and of course, for cats and dogs. Enjoy holiday treats after each show, and bring a camera to have pictures made with the show's costumed characters.

The show is written and directed by Jerry Sims. The cast includes Kimberly Kirklin as The Cat, Lee Griner as Beauregard Hound, Mike Reed as Spike, Ginny Loggins as Fifi Latour, Steven French as Scotty and Ron Bourdages as the narrator/musician, with stage management by Voris Williams and set design and technical direction by Russ Friedrikis.

The ASC Kids' Club is part of the Alys Stephens Center Arts in Action education and outreach initiative. This show is sponsored by Jane Stephens Comer, The Birmingham News and Viva Health.
