UAB Visual Arts Gallery: Pinky Bass

This exhibition is a retrospective of the extensive career of Alabama artist Pinky Bass. It will feature large-format pinhole photographs, handmade kinetic music boxes, multimedia works with hand stitching and photographs and works that combine traditional handwork with contemporary media. An opening reception is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8 in the gallery, 900 13th St. South. UAB Visual Arts Gallery: Faculty Show

The faculty show will feature new works by faculty in the UAB Department of Art and Art History. Works will include sculpture, photography, painting, graphic design, new media, printmaking and drawing. An opening reception is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 in the gallery, 900 13th St. South. UAB Visual Arts Gallery: PUSH Product Design

PUSH Product Design is a Birmingham industrial design firm committed to innovation.  This exhibition will explore the intersections of art and design with a focus on the useable object. An opening reception is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 12 in the gallery, 900 13th St. South. UAB Visual Arts Gallery: BFA Show

Due to the highest number of BFA graduating students ever, this year the gallery will present two BFA shows featuring five student artists in each show. The BFA shows will feature works by students graduating with the bachelor of fine arts degree across all studio disciplines. An opening reception is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 9 in the gallery, 900 13th St. South. About the UAB Visual Arts Gallery

The UAB Visual Arts Gallery showcases both historical and contemporary artworks by local, regional, national and international artists. Its exhibitions highlight works by faculty and students, as well as emerging and established artists, in up to a dozen regularly changing shows that always are free and open to the public.
