Historically nursing has been seen as the most trusted profession in health care, however, nurses’ ability to influence change has been limited. The UAB School of Nursing’s goals, through the Leadership and Health Policy Initiative, are to build and sustain a strong and diverse cadre of nurse leaders educated to shape equitable and patient-centered health care, and to have the profession’s trustworthiness and influence match at the highest level.
