If you experience urine leakage with sneezing, coughing, laughing, walking, and exercising, you may have a common condition called Stress Urinary Incontinence: “SUI” for short.

The Pippa Fitness Pessary study investigates the safety and effectiveness of a self-managed, non-surgical, non-prescription product intended to prevent urine leakage.

This study is only one month long. Participants will be compensated $250 for completing the study visits.

DAY or NIGHT, when is the best time to take your blood pressure medication?

Help us find out by participating in the PRECISION-BP research study investigating the effects of Sacubitril/Valsartan or Valsartan on your body’s 24-hour rhythm of a hormone in your blood called natriuretic peptides. This hormone and the study medications are related to the heart. Eligible participants must be obese (BMI: 30-45 kg/m2) men and women, have high blood pressure, and have no history of heart or kidney problems. The study involves wearing a blood pressure monitor for 24 hours, 24-hour inpatient visits at UAB Hospital, taking medications, and collecting blood and urine samples. Meals will be provided at no cost. Participants will be compensated $575 for completing the study visits. UAB endocrinologist Fernando Ovalle, M.D., explains why new subtypes of diabetes could lead to more precise treatments, fewer doctor visits and potentially reduced health care expenditures.
Major Depressive Disorder is a mental health condition characterized by periods of low mood, low self-esteem, and loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities. The purpose of this clinical research study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug for Major Depressive Disorder, also known as Major Depression. Study participation may include several clinic visits over a period of up to 5 months with an opportunity to conduct some visits either virtually or in-clinic. Qualified participants will receive compensation for their time.
