The Staff Development Committee identifies existing professional development training opportunities and recommends changes or enhancements as staff feedback indicates. We research and create programs to address training, compensation, discrimination and transportation issues. We seek assistance and collaboration from those who possess knowledge and expertise with regard to current and potential employee concerns.

2018 Accomplishments

The Staff Development Committee members hosted the second annual Taking Charge of your Career panel Discussion in February. This was the first of a three-part series. Part Two of the series, Mapping Your Career, will be hosted on Tuesday, April 23. The panel discussion was well-received, and going forward, we will plan to schedule as least two panel discussions per year.

The committee is also in the process of researching a UAB staff ombudsperson.
