Into the Streets

Into the Streets is a bi-annual program sponsored by the Leadership and Service Council designed to connect UAB students, faculty, and staff to the Birmingham community through a day of service. Each fall and spring semester, UAB students, faculty, and staff come together to help the university accomplish its mission of encouraging partnerships that improve education, health, economic prosperity and quality of life.

In adherence to social distancing guidelines and healthy behavior protocols, this year’s Kick-Off event will take place virtually at the beginning of service via the assigned student site-leader. Volunteers are expected to stay for the duration of the assigned shift. All participants must download their Engage event pass for check-in. Participation is prohibited without pre-registration via BlazerPulse.

Site Leader Information

To be a site leader, students must submit an online application. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received and assigned on a first come, first served basis. Please note the application deadlines for the respective Into the Streets service programming.

Applications will be reviewed, and all candidates will be notified if chosen as a site leader no later than one week prior to the service date indicated in the application.

Site leader assignments will be determined in the order they are received on a first come, first served basis.

Being selected as a site leader, without the submission of a service project, DOES NOT guarantee that your group/organization will serve together.
