Due to COVID-19 we have modified our headshot schedule. We will be taking headshots on Tuesday mornings from 9am until 11:30am OUTSIDE of Hill Student Center.

Appointments are required and are limited to one person per appointment. We cannot accommodate walk-ins or group photos. Please make every effort to keep your appointment and give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel.

Day of your photo:

  • Photographer and client must be up to date with their Healthcheck (UR Photographers complete their Healthcheck daily)
    • On the day of your headshot, please present the photographer with your Healthcheck info. Photographer will be prepared to do the same
  • Due to campus social distancing guidelines, we cannot take headshots in the Administration Building
  • All headshots will be taken outside of Hill University Student Center on Tuesdays from 9:00am-11:30am by appointment only
    • Please meet the photographer near the awning overhang by the outdoor Amphitheater, facing University Boulevard
    • Please make an appointment. We cannot accommodate dropins
  • We’ll have a spot marked for you to stand for your photo
  • Please wear your mask and keep it on until the photographer asks you to remove it
  • Due to social distancing guidelines, the photographer will not be able to show you the image in the camera after your photo is taken
  • Please come at your assigned time so that we can follow social distancing protocols

Other important info:

  • Please do not utilize this service in order to schedule multiple individual headshot appointments for a specific departmental purpose such as for a website, poster, brochure, pamphlet, etc. Instead, please contact our team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information and we will make a special appointment for your group as a Fee for Service, or refer you to a UAB-approved freelancer.
  • Please only schedule one headshot appointment per year (e.g., if your last headshot was taken on July 8, 2020, please do not schedule another appointment until July 8, 2021).
  • If you require a redo, you will be charged a fee.
  • When making an appointment, include the email address where you would like to be notified that the photos are on the UAB Image Gallery.
  • Please be aware that we require five working days to process your headshots and that we will not send you multiple photos for pre-approval, but will pick one horizontal and one vertical photo and apply any touch-ups, if necessary.
  • University Relations does not photograph events such as award ceremonies, private parties, luncheons, etc.
  • University priorities may limit the availability of the photographer and sometimes with little notice.

What to wear for your headshot:

  • Avoid wearing patterns.
  • Simple colors are best.
  • Avoid wearing seasonal apparel.
  • Avoid wearing clothing with logos (team logos included).
  • If you wear a white coat, make sure it is pressed, and bring it to the shoot.
