Both degree seeking and non-degree seeking students are responsible for choosing their own coursework and making sure that they meet the prerequisites for those classes. This information is located in the UAB course catalog.

If you want to register for a class with specific prerequisites, know that there may be registration holds on these classes. If you are trying to register for a class and cannot due to a pre-requisite hold, contact One-Stop Student Services. Some classes may require clearance from the specific department or school.

Students who intend to enter a graduate program are responsible for coordinating with their desired program in order to make sure they meet the required coursework, GPA, and application standards for admission.

Students interested in taking graduate level classes need to not only contact the department in questions, but also complete a request form and return it to the Graduate School.
