More than 80 people showed up for the CHIA Innovation Workshop, a historic turnout that speaks to the success of a program that provides grants for “novel, collaborative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions that address real-world community health needs,” said Dr. Shauntice Allen, CHIA program director.

Attendees learned about next steps in the rigorous competitive process, including developing an idea into a proposal, attending a second workshop to refine that proposal on paper, and presenting before a panel of judges. Those who continue in the competition will be matched with a mentor to guide them through the process (CCTS is looking for CHIA mentors, learn more and apply here).

CCTS thanks the many volunteers and staff whose time and energy contributed to making the 2017 CHIA Innovation Workshop such a vibrant and exciting success. The energy and enthusiasm of the CHIA applicants shines through in the photos below—we look forward to learning which proposals will receive awards later this Spring!
